A Textile Designer by profession, an artist by passion and a creative mother by experience, I breathe color and design. Whether it is waking up early morning each day to make an eye-catching school lunch for my daughter or walking around the house imagining rooms with different paint on the walls and shifting furniture around, I feel my art studio is just an extension of myself existing at every corner that interests me.

Pen and ink sketches allow me to focus on intricate details bringing out some skills that lay hidden when I have fun with charcoal on canvas. I have always been intrigued by the beauty and variation of natural dyes, especially when they come in contact with organic materials like jute, cotton, corn hair, etc., which is why I can spend hours watching them flow together in a given space protected within glass (e.g. wall hangings, trays).

When I block print, I keep in mind the beauty of this age-old craft and the effort of those artisans who carved the first few blocks, trying my best to pay a tribute to them as I hope to revive this craft. Screen printing, on the other hand, gives me the freedom to create in a manner where I can be more flexible and productive combining interesting techniques. Watercolor is a medium that I enjoy due to its versatile nature and quick ability to adapt to its surrounding colors, hence, it is also the one I select to travel with usually.

Recently, I have also explored the world of graphic design and I must say it has been a wonderful experience!
